Two night lecture series + two educational boat adventures that spans the Salish Sea marine ecosystem
Lectures: (in person at Skyline Marina, recorded if from out of town): August 30 (6-8:30PM) and August 31st (6-8:30PM)
Boat excursions: (launch from Skyline Marina): Sept 1st (10-1PM), Sept 2nd (10-2PM)
Our curriculum is designed to introduce students to the local marine life in the Salish Sea. From eelgrass, to forage fish, to seals, to seabirds, we believe experiential education initiates a desire to save our natural world.
Two evenings will cover some community building and learning, featuring a local researcher and their area of expertise.
Boat excursions will include incredible marine life marine species identification Introduction to water and land-based research.
We never can predict what marine life each day will bring! The ultimate goal is to experience the animals' ecosystem and understand how we can become leaders in marine conservation - seeing whales is never guaranteed.
At the end of each program, participants will get a baseball cap with the trident on it, symbolizing that they have become a Guardian of the Sea.
Space is limited to 10 participants.
In the event of any cancellation, regardless of when the cancellation is initiated, the credit card processing fee will not be refunded (3%).
Cancellation Refunds vary by course:
Spring, Fall, and Winter Programs: if cancelled 5 days prior to the course, the class fee will be refunded to you, less the credit card processing fee (3%). If cancelled any time after that, there will not be a refund for this course.
Cancellations 91+ days prior to session start date = Refundable less CC processing fees & $150 deposit
Cancellations between 61 and 90 days prior to session start date = Refundable less CC processing fees & 50% fee of full tuition
Cancellations between 0 and 60 days prior to session start date = non-refundable
Exceptions to this policy cannot be made for any reason, including weather or personal emergencies. All cancellations must be submitted in writing and must be received in the above time frames.
