Service Description
The call of the deep invites your child to meet the Kraken who lives in the Salish Sea…the Giant Pacific Octopus! We are so thrilled to offer our first Kraken Kamp to explore this amazing creature and other invertebrates of the Salish Sea. The giant Pacific octopus is a highly intelligent animal that can learn to open jars, solve puzzles and interact with caretakers. Kraken Kamp will be full of adventures as we explore the seldom seen world of the deep sea with segments from My Octopus Teacher, special charter boat going to the deep water of the Salish Sea and using our hands-on underwater drone to explore the creatures we might see there. We will also explore and learn about the surrounding eco-system and become junior citizen scientists who are empowered to protect and share the story of the Giant Pacific Octopus. Each student will become a Kraken Karetaker as they have an opportunity to adopt a stuffy Giant Pacific Octopus on the first day of camp. Note: Lunch is not included, students will need to pack their own lunch, water, and snacks each day.
Cancellation Policy
In the event of any cancellation, regardless of when the cancellation is initiated, the credit card processing fee will not be refunded (3%). Cancellation Refunds vary by course: Spring, Fall, and Winter Programs: if cancelled 5 days prior to the course, the class fee will be refunded to you, less the credit card processing fee (3%). If cancelled any time after that, there will not be a refund for this course. Summer Programs: Cancellations 91+ days prior to session start date = Refundable less CC processing fees & $150 deposit Cancellations between 61 and 90 days prior to session start date = Refundable less CC processing fees & 50% fee of full tuition Cancellations between 0 and 60 days prior to session start date = non-refundable Exceptions to this policy cannot be made for any reason, including weather or personal emergencies. All cancellations must be submitted in writing and must be received in the above time frames. ____ The Pulse: There are no refunds available for our virtual continuing education program.
