Leadership & Transparency
We believe that strong leadership and transparent decision-making are the foundation of meaningful impact. Our work is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors and supported by policies, practices, and reporting that keep us accountable to our mission — to connect people with the Salish Sea and inspire the next generation of ocean stewards.
Our Board of Directors
The Salish Sea School is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors — community leaders, educators, scientists, and advocates who share a deep commitment to protecting and celebrating the Salish Sea.
Together, they ensure we stay true to our mission, steward our resources responsibly, and operate with integrity and accountability.

Policies & Accountability
We hold ourselves to high standards of ethics and integrity. Our policies guide our decisions and ensure that our team, volunteers, and board operate in the best interests of the organization and the community we serve.
All board members, staff, and key volunteers complete annual conflict-of-interest disclosures and follow clear policies to ensure impartial decision-making. Concerns can be reported through our whistleblower process without fear of retaliation.
Our Commitment
Leadership and transparency are not just governance practices — they are values woven into everything we do. We are proud to be a trusted steward of the Salish Sea and are committed to sharing our decisions, impact, and vision openly with the community that makes our work
possible.
Annual Reports & Financials
Transparency builds trust. Each year, we share our progress and financial information openly so that donors, partners, and grant makers can see how their support makes a difference.
