Free Willy Community Movie Night

September 5, 2025, 8PM-10PM

​@Discovery Center, Skyline Marina, Anacortes

Description:   Grab your lawn chairs, blankets, and friends for a community showing of Free WIlly outside the Salish Sea Discovery Center! The Movie starts at 8pm, but we encourage you to show up early to grab some popcorn and the best spots!​

Sunset Spectacular Cruise

September 6, 2025, 6PM-8PM

Description:  Enjoy an evening on the water and experience the magic of a Salish Sea sunset while discovering incredible landscapes and wildlife that call these waters home. Proceeds support youth environmental education!

Orca Talk with Scientist and Trivia

September 9, 2025, 6PM-8:30PM

Description:  Join the Salish Sea School and Orca Scientist Lourdes Floures at Terramar Brewstillery and Pizza for a fun filled night of all things orcas and the sea! Start the evening off with pizza and a drink as you learn about the amazing world of Orcas and then bring your trivia prowess for Salish Sea Trivia!

The Pulse Continued Education

Topic: The Elwha Dam

Description:  Excited to continue discovering the Salish Sea? Join us on the second Wednesday of each month for The Pulse—a virtual learning series designed for environmental educators, marine naturalists, and curious nature lovers alike. The first of this series arrives just in time for Discovery Days! All proceeds support youth environmental education!

Dr. Peter Hodum, Puffin Talk

September 12, 2025, 5:30P-7:00PM

Description:  Calling all puffin people! We are excited to welcome Dr. Peter Hodum to Anacortes for an evening presentation on all things puffins. Dr. Hodum is professor of biology and environmental sciences at Pacific Sound University, where his research focuses on conservation efforts of seabirds, including the Tufted Puffins of the Salish Sea. 

​

Tickets - $5/pp child, $10/pp adult with the ability to donate to help us cover Peter's travel costs.

Farewell the Puffins Cruise

Description:   As the Tufted Puffins prepare themselves for their journey out to the deep waters of the Pacific, help us wish them a hearty farewell on this special puffin cruise. All proceeds support youth environmental education!

Salish Sea Fest (and ribbon cutting)

Description:  Join us for a fun evening of community, games, and celebration as we officially open our Discovery Center! Whether it is face painting, photos with the famous Mermen of Anacortes, or exploring the wonderful world of Marbled Murrelets with a seabird scavenger hunt, there is something for the whole family!

Salish Sea Coffee Club

September 20, 2025, 10AM-11AM​

Description: Join us for a special meeting of The Salish Sea Coffee Club as we go outdoors for a breakfast by The Sea. Learn about foraging along Washington Coasts while sampling wild foods that grow near our waters.

Discover the Salish Sea Art Exhibition

Sunset Hike

Description:  The Salish Sea is just as spectacular from shore as it is by boat! Throw on your hiking boots and come enjoy an evening hike through the beautiful Washington Park. Guided by our expert naturalists, you’ll learn about the connection between land and sea, as we explore the wild forest and rugged coastline of this special space. Stick around to view the sunset and enjoy a complementary chilled beer! Proceeds go to youth environmental education!
