About the event
Welcome the changing season with The Salish Sea School during a slow and mindful walk through Washington Park. Together, we will pause, relax, and quietly notice the wildlife, plants, sounds, and rhythms of the Salish Sea in early fall.
The walk will include gentle invitations to awaken our senses, reflect on the balance of light and darkness at the equinox, and deepen our connection with the more-than-human world.
At Green Point, we will share a cup of Douglas-fir tea and pause for a meditation to remember the endangered species of the Salish Sea as the season changes.
This is not a hike or a fitness walk. We will move slowly, stop often, and travel only a comfortable distance. This experience is designed to be accessible and welcoming to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Participants are encouraged to move in whatever way feels safe and comfortable for them.
