Service Description

Join our Middle School Adventure club running once a month from February through June! This club is designed to build confidence and connections for middle school students, while learning about and exploring the Salish Sea. Meetings will focus on marine science of the Salish Sea, students will take part in hands-on activities and be able to connect with each other while exploring and learning about the Salish Sea. Our theme for the year? Discovery! Each month we will embark on a different excursion to meet and explore the beaches, go hiking, look for local wildlife both on land and in the water, and learn all about what we are seeing. The inaugural year was a success filled with lifelong memories and friendships! We sat in a field as a shrew came to greet each of us, we witnessed a river otter moving its pup to its den, saw harbor seals frolicking in the bay, and we discovered endless cool critters tide pooling. We are so excited for year two, see you there! *Information on specific locations, logistics, and June meeting date to come! The $50 club fee helps ensure that students who sign up are committed to attending each monthly adventure. This small investment also allows us to plan confidently for transportation, staffing, and supplies—making the experience safe, meaningful, and fun for everyone. Additionally, the Anacortes Marine Trades Committee has funded this project. A huge thank you!!
