Service Description

Rewilding will include a two-night, three-day adventure based at the Rosario Beach Marine Laboratory facility. Rosario Marine Lab Facility map From the cabins you can view the Straits of Juan de Fuca, the Olympic Mountains, Vancouver Island, and the San Juan Islands. The cabins have a full kitchen, private bath, bedroom, and a porch for taking in the spectacular views. There will be a chartered boat trip (beach landing) to spectacular Cypress Island which is a NRCA of 1,072 acres. This rewilding nature immersion will include the option to do art or journal at a picnic table on the beach or hike the gorgeous trails with a guide or on your own. We will offer restorative Mindfulness in Nature experiences on land and on the boat, Salish Sea Nature Art, and an option for morning outdoor gentle yoga and evening Yoga Nidra (Deep Relaxation). We will have beachfront campfires each evening with s’mores. There is spaciousness built into the schedule for you to simply relax on your porch, hike in Bowman Bay, Deception Pass State Park, or sit on Rosario Head and gaze at the sea. Some of the best tidepools in the state are out the front door - the Rosario Tidepools! Dinners will include Vegetarian Lasagna and Fidalgo Entrée Salad and desserts by Gere-a-Deli. We are asking that you bring your own breakfast, lunch, and snacks as you will have a full kitchen in your cabins. Herbal teas with local honey will be available in the Library (full window wall view of the Strait) which will be our community gathering place. ​ All cabins are "BYOB - Bring Your Own Bedding" (Full size beds). Enrollment includes a private cabin. If you attend with a friend, partner, or spouse, the rate for the retreat (including a shared cabin) would be $575 pp. Use code REWILDING at checkout for each person and make a note about cabin sharing! Your Guides have many years of experience guiding nature immersion, mindfulness (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) and Hatha Yoga in Nature retreats.


Cancellation Policy

The Salish Sea School – Cancellation & Refund Policy Because our programs require advance staffing, vessel scheduling, permits, and preparation, all bookings include a 25% non-refundable deposit, unless otherwise noted below. Refund policies vary by program type. All cancellations must be submitted in writing and received within the timeframes listed below. To ensure fairness and consistency for all participants, exceptions to this policy cannot be made, including for weather, illness, or personal emergencies, unless explicitly stated. Wildlife Tours & On-Water Programs More than 72 hours (3 days) before departure: You may cancel or reschedule your booking. The 25% deposit is retained, and the remaining 75% of your payment will be refunded. Within 72 hours of departure: Refunds or rescheduling are not available unless we are able to fill your spot. If we successfully resell it, you will receive a refund minus the 25% deposit. No-shows or missed boats: No refunds are available for no-shows. Weather & Safety: If The Salish Sea School cancels a program due to unsafe weather or conditions, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule. Non-Wildlife Programs (Spring, Fall, and Winter Programs) Cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the course start date: Your class fee will be refunded, less the 25% processing fee. Cancellations made fewer than 5 days before the course start date: No refunds are available. Summer Programs 91 or more days prior to session start date: Refundable, minus credit card processing fees and a $250 deposit. 61–90 days prior to session start date: Refundable, minus credit card processing fees and 50% of full tuition. 0–60 days prior to session start date: Non-refundable. The Pulse (Virtual Continuing Education Program) - No refunds are available for this program. Participant Requirements for small boat tours- The maximum weight limit for each participant is 250 pounds.
